I am excited to announce a new workshop on February 11, 2011 at the MCA in Santa Clara.  It would be my 4th visit to this center to speak on Islamic Inheritance.

I often use the opportunity to do something a little (or a lot) different and add value to those who have seen my workshop before.  The workshop will focus on doing your own last will and testament.  The MCA will provide forms I will prepare.  This will not be a session where I provide legal advice to a large group, but rather provide a way for Muslims that can be served by a simple will, a power of attorney and healthcare documents, the opportunity to do it themselves.

I do not prepare simple wills for clients for a variety of reasons, this video is meant to describe some of them.   However I don’t mind helping provide will forms and information non-clients need to make their own decisions.

Of course the workshop is meant to be educational and should discourage many from doing their planning this way.  Though perhaps for some people, this is all they need.
